Responsibility for public affairs

Abstract

The author reviews research on actor’s moral and legal responsibility for his or her actions. The review is restricted to the scene of present-day Poland. The focus is on the political class, who bear a singular responsibility for public affairs. Of particular interest are methods that serve to evade responsibility, such as shifting the blame on others, manipulating the evidence, or sublimation of the wrongdoing. Finally, the author outlines a method of raising people in a spirit of responsibility.
