Abstrakt

Soybean is the most important raw material of industrial feeds in Poland as well as in the whole European Union. Unfortunately the climate conditions and available soybean varieties are the main cause of insignificant production in EU countries. At the same time excellent nutritional properties and great soybean promotion make EU dependent on import. The urgent question is whether we could start soybean production in Poland and other European countries? It appears possible, especially if we use new breeding techniques to improve existing soybean varieties. In near future this might be one of the possibilities to provide more food for growing human population.
