Abstract


The paper provides introduction to the report prepared by the Committee on Hazards related to Water of the Polish Academy of Sciences and presented as a suite of six consecutive articles in the present issue of NAUKA, co-authored by Polish experts, with members of the Committee playing the leading role. In the report, in addition to the three categories of problems with water (too dirty, too little, too much), a category of problems related to institutions is also tackled.
