Abstract

Nowadays everyday life and its world, as well as all social practices (economics, politics, medical care, education, etc.) are shaped by science, itself a social practice. The relation between science and other practices is analyzed in several works of Bruno Latour. A philosophical analysis can, however, go further and penetrate the ontological structure of their interactions. In order to include Latour’s concept of hybrids in my philosophical analysis I reformulate Heidegger’s ontology and introduce the concept of hybrid being. It helps me to discuss the migration of beings from different spheres of social practice to science and from it back to everyday life, economics, education, medical care, etc.
