Abstract

The article is on the mutual relations between mathematics and psychology, with a special emphasis on these mathematical methods which have influenced contemporary research in psychology in the most visible way. These include: mathematical statistics, measurement theory, mathematical information theory (in cognitive psychology), game theory and modelling via differential equations (in dynamical social psychology). It is no doubt that mathematical reasoning in various problems in psychology constitutes an attractive path in the modern psychological research.
