Abstract

Jakub Fichna, the President of the Polish Young Academy and Piotr Oprocha, Chairman of the Young Researchers Council, a subsidiary body of Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education, discuss crucial issues and problems facing young researchers in Poland. Among the topics, one may find the role of mentor in contemporary science, international mobility, and possible career pathways for young scientists. Fichna and Oprocha also summarize the main objectives of both organizations and their role in the scientific community.
