Determinants of scientists’ successes in the journals
Keywords:

The paper is a review of factors determining scientists’ publication successes. It shows that taking into consideration individual characteristics like gender, age, experience, skills and motivation is not enough, and a lot is left for the impact of scientists’ collaboration and their institutional surrounding. The authors argue that all of these factors should be included to explain research performance as they interact and together create resources available for researchers and motivation they face. Last but not least the role of government is important, as it is responsible for creating incentives and constrains to do researches and publish the outcomes.
