Abstrakt

Civil engineering is an important part of the technical science. It is developed on the foundations belonging to the basic science, using its achievements, its theoretical and experimental results in application to construction of human dwellings and means of transportation of people and goods. In the particular sectors of civil engineering different methods, based on mathematics and mechanics, on chemistry and on management are applied. Nevertheless, the representation of civil engineering in the main part of the Polish Academy of Sciences seems inadequate and will disappear in a non distant future.
